Strong All Season | Natural Cleaning | Jeana Santos

Well hello everyone, my
name is Jeana Santos,
and I am here to talk to you
today about cleaning your
home naturally.
Some of the things that I use,
some of the things
that my family uses,
and basically ways that we keep
toxins out of the house,
and use what we’ve
come to be familiar with.
So we have some basic things.
dōTERRA has really supplied us
with some amazing On Guard
products.
So those are kind
of my standard go-to.
I know that if I need to make a
cleaning solution,
I have a cleaner concentrate.
When I am going to
do my laundry instead of buying
something at the store,
I order my
dōTERRA Laundry Detergent.
And the reason I like to use
the dōTERRA Laundry Detergent
is actually a
couple of reasons.
It’s actually right here.
I like to use this because it’s
highly concentrated.
I can use 64, I can actually
get 64 loads out of this small
bottle.
So I really like that.
I use one tablespoon.
Something I have noticed is you
don’t want to use too much
because the enzymes, you know,
if you put too
much in your washing machine,
it may have a hard time
breaking down all the enzymes.
So I’ve noticed
that less is more.
It smells really nice.
And I’ve actually used some
citrus oils to kind of boost
the smell if I would
like a little bit of change.
So I use my
On Guard Laundry Detergent
As a basic concentrated cleaner,
I use this right here,
and this is our
On Guard concentrated cleaner.
This bottle lasts
me six months.
It’s crazy.
I can’t believe it.
But I have saved so much money
not going to the store and
buying all of those so-called
“natural cleaners”
simply by using this and adding
my essential oils to it.
So when I use the On Guard
concentrated cleaner,
I will add a couple tablespoons
to my glass bottle just like
this.
It’s glass, it has a nice
spraying mist on there,
and I can pre-make my cleaner.
I will use distilled water, and
I will put, like I said,
about two or three tablespoons
of this cleaner in here,
and then I use
this for all- purpose cleaning.
Something that I like to add to
it is Lemon, because Lemon
smells amazing,
it helps to uplift the mood.
I mean it smells so good.
Who wouldn’t want
to use Lemon, right?
And Lemon’s just kind of
one of those oils that when
you’re cleaning,
or when you walk into someone’s
home and you smell a fresh
lemon smell,
to me, it smells clean.
And not only
does our’s smell clean,
but it actually does things,
and I’ll talk to more
about that, just a minute.
And then another thing that I
do to keep our hands clean,
because we’re touching light
switches and doorknobs and
all that,
is we use the
On Guard Foaming Hand Wash.
So I really like this.
All right, and
some people ask me,
“Do you put water
with the foaming hand wash?”
and I just like it straight.
So I will put it in
my bathroom, it’s actually on
all of my sinks, so I use it.
So that’s just
kind of my foundation.
And now I’m going to talk to
you a little bit about the
essential oils that I use.
And I do have some little notes
here that I can read for you
guys.
But basically essential oils
are from nature,
and as far as I’m concerned,
if I’m trying to get rid of the
chemicals in my household and
in my environment,
I want to use
things that are natural.
So I know and I trust dōTERRA.
So I really like to
use the oils from dōTERRA.
I actually have been asked,
“Do you feel confident that you
can effectively clean your
house without chemicals?”
And my answer is yes.
I do feel that way.
I actually think that I am
reducing my family’s toxic
exposure simply just by
cleaning my household.
So I really like to use these.
Some of the oils that
I choose are based on smell.
I am smell-driven,
kind of what I’m drawn to,
Lemon, I’m drawn to
citrus all the time.
So the citrus family, Lemon,
Wild Orange, Bergamot, love
those oils.
They also are good
for things like degreasing.
So if I have an issue where I
have some, say, olive oil on my
stovetop.
And I need it cleaned,
I know that I can
go to my citrus essential oils
and that will help me
effectively degrease the area.
So I know that I
have those at my fingertips.
I also use oils based on their
chemical constitutes.
So knowing the benefits of the
oils is really helpful for me.
Some of the oils that I
use for, like, cleansing
properties
include the citrus oils that I
just talked to you about and
also Tea Tree.
Tea Tree is known
as Melaleuca as well.
Tea Tree not only smells good,
but it is really known to clean
the air.
So, I’m going to talk to you
about that in a minute, but
that is something that I do
constantly all day, every day
is work on cleaning
the air with diffusing.
Some of the other oils,
I just talked about
the On Guard lines,
but this is the
On Guard essential oil.
And the On Guard essential oil,
it has about 250 drops in this
bottle.
To me it
smells like the holidays.
It includes Clove,
Cinnamon, Orange, Rosemary, and
Wild Orange.
And when you smell
it, it’s just so comforting.
So who would not like to clean
their house with On Guard,
right?
Something else that On
Guard is known for,
and one reason that
I really use it,
is not just the smell,
but the fact that it
is known to protect against
environmental threats.
That’s really
important especially, I have
now grown children,
I can’t believe I’m
that old, but I am.
And when they
come in the house,
I want to make sure that
they are, you know, safe and
protected.
So we use On Guard on ourselves
and around the house all the
time.
All of these oils are known to
be good surface cleaners, and
that’s really important when
you’re cleaning.
You want to look for
oils that are known for that.
I’m always gonna tell you
dōTERRA because I know
the source.
I know where it’s coming from,
and I might be speaking
to the choir because if you’re
listening to this,
chances are you are all about
natural solutions anyways.
But it’s really important that
you’re not getting synthetics
when we’re talking about
essential oils.
Remember, I told
you about diffusing?
So I have one, two, three,
diffusers going right now.
They cover about 330 square
feet in my house,
and it’s bigger than that,
so I need a few diffusers.
Diffusing for me always
includes a citrus oil, I think
because it, again, uplifts
my mood, and it is cleansing
the air.
Another oil that I go
to is Rosemary or Tea Tree.
Now both of those are
great for, you know, the
cleaning properties.
But those are two oils that,
Rosemary and Tea Tree with
citruses as are two oils that
are a must in my diffuser at
all times.
If people are not feeling so
well or need some support,
I’ll put some other
oils in there as well.
Another one that
I like is Lavender.
Now people think,
“Lavender for cleaning?”
But believe it or not, it’s
actually very effective.
It’s calmative, it has a
nice smell, and people are used
to Lavender.
They like it.
So if I use in the diffuser,
say, three drops of a
citrus oil, one to two drops of
a Tea Tree or Rosemary, and
then one to
two drops of Lavender.
It’s really a nice
blend for the household.
So those would be just kind of
a standard thing that I’m
using.
But again, remember, I’m going
to go and reach for whatever
I’m drawn to at the time.
Those are just kind
of always in my diffuser.
Something that I’ve noticed
from choosing to clean this way
is that I spend
a lot less money.
And I think I already
said this, but it’s crazy.
I used to go to the store all
the time because I wasn’t
buying a concentration,
I was buying by the bottles, so
I was using more plastic,
I was using more bottles, and I
was needing to go the
store more.
And when I went to
the store I wasn’t just picking
up cleaners, I was picking up
other things that I didn’t
necessarily need.
So, I have eliminated those
plug-in things out of my walls.
We don’t have those, we don’t
have any of those synthetic
sprays.
So we make our own.
Something that I like to
use as, say, a bathroom spray,
or, you know, something to
freshen the air in a room that
I’m not diffusing,
Is I like to put about, and I
actually have the sized bottle
right here,
I like to put about 15 drops of
essential oil of my choice into
one of these little bottles.
See, just like this.
That’s real nice.
Probably around, I don’t know,
six or eight ounces.
And the recipe is actually
something that was created that
I think’s super cute,
and it just says that you want
to add your favorite citrus
oils like Grapefruit,
Lemongrass, Rosemary
and then leave it in your
bathroom so that you can have
a nice, clean smell in
the bathroom, while not using
anything synthetic.
So I already told you my go-to
oils are Lemon, kind of some,
you know,
some Lavender,
Tea Tree, Rosemary,
but something I haven’t
mentioned is an oil that a lot
of people are familiar
with in cleaning products.
And that is a pine or
a fir type of a smell.
So if that’s something you’re
looking for, I love Siberian
Fir.
It’s phenomenal.
It smells good.
It’s kind of
a neutral smell, actually.
Whenever people come in and
they smell like, I’ll clean my
bathroom with Lemon and
Siberian Fir,
and people will say,
“What did you use?”
They, they’re not used to
smelling something so good.
And I make sure
I let them know that
no, it wasn’t that other pine
cleaner that used to be used on
people’s floors, it’s this.
And the reason that I don’t
want to use anything synthetic
like those pine cleaners on
my floor, is because I want to
keep my animals safe.
My animals’ paws are
all over the floor.
I have little puppies,
and they,
and they’re actually in their
crate right now
or they’d be trying
to talk to you all,
but they, I want them to be
safe because they are part of
my family, part of
my household.
And this is a great way to
clean and keep them safe as
well.
You know, I have some recipes,
so I’m going to definitely
share those with you.
And a couple of them are
including some things such as
white vinegar and baking soda.
One of that
cleaners that I make,
so if this doesn’t have On
Guard in here, or even if
it does, even if I
use the On Guard cleaner,
but I would like to boost
it up and change the smell.
I might add five to
ten drops of essential oil.
And what I would choose is, I
like to add a Wild Orange to
this and I may,
I know it already has Rosemary,
but I really like the
smell of Rosemary for cleaning,
and basically what Rosemary
does too.
So I’ll kind of mix some Wild
Orange and some Rosemary in
here.
So it kind of boosts that part,
even though it’s already
included in an On Guard,
I like it to smell a little bit
stronger in that area.
Right, so again, just super
simple water, cleaner.
I mean it’s just so easy and so
inexpensive to make this.
When I say inexpensive, we’re
talking about Lemon
being something, like, around 5
cents a drop.
It’s not very expensive.
Something like Lavender may be
10 cents a drop,
because people do
ask me those questions.
Well, when you say, “not
expensive,” what is not
expensive?
Well to me, I could effectively
use 15 cents worth of essential
oil and clean
my whole entire kitchen.
I mean, you know, that’s pretty
inexpensive.
So one of the recipes that I
use is two tablespoons of
white vinegar,
and one cup of warm water,
and then 10 drops of an
essential oil such as On Guard,
Tea Tree, or maybe
a Lemon, OK?
And you can mix them all up.
But I might use these because
if I’m trying to do something
like my bathroom sink,
and the reason I would use that
on a bathroom sink is because
white vinegar helps with
mineral deposits.
So I want to help, you know,
clean that out and also my
bathtub.
There’s a mixture that we used
to use that did have chemicals,
we eliminated that from
our house.
And it was something that was
really good for cleaning
bathtubs.
So the bathtub now gets cleaned
with baking soda and white
vinegar and about 10 drops of
my preferred essential oil.
So my recipe would be about a
quarter cup of baking soda,
a tablespoon of vinegar,
and eight to ten drops of
whatever essential oil I’m
deciding to use out of these
five or six that I’ve been
talking about.
Then I’ll actually put it on
the area of concern,
and then I’ll let
it set a little bit,
and then I’ll
use my scrubbing brush.
So I don’t have
to work any harder,
but I’m not adding
toxins to my environment.
So it’s really a
great, great thing to use.
A couple other things.
My floors.
People asked me,
“So you use essential
oils on your floors?”
And I have different floors
throughout my house.
And my answer is yes.
I’ve not ever seen any issues
with it at all.
We use, say, like a gallon
of water, and two to three
tablespoons of On
Guard cleaner,
and then I like to add the
Tea Tree, or Rosemary, or the
Siberian Fir for my floors.
I like those smells.
I will also take
a cloth such as this.
So I just use this one of these
kind of microfiber-type cloths,
and I will put some warm water,
and then I’ll apply a couple
drops of the essential oil and
wipe down my
sinks or my counters.
I also wipe down
my faucets a lot,
because you’re always touching
that and you’re touching
something different and then,
you know, you can be spreading,
you know, some different things
around that you
don’t want to do.
Something that you want to use
more of an effective solution
for would be
ovens and refrigerators.
So my solution for heavy jobs
is one to one on white vinegar
and warm water,
the warmer the better,
and then I’m going to
use about 20 to 30 drops.
So, say I’m doing two cups of
white vinegar and two cups of,
like, hot water,
well warm water,
never hot, but warm,
and then I’m gonna use about 20
to 30 drops of the
essential oils.
And I want to use a degreaser.
So I’m gonna want to use Lemon,
and then I will use a Siberian
Fir because I really like the
way that that works.
So those two oils together,
I’m going to be able to clean
the inside of my oven and the
inside of my
fridgerator really effectively.
So hopefully, you’re finding
some of these things to be
effective for
yourself and helpful.
I know that I’m very thankful
that I have these options.
I’m so happy that these have
come into my life and I’m sure
you are too.
So if you have
any questions I think that,
I’m not saying you can
necessarily reach out to me,
but reach out to dōTERRA,
reach out to the person
that is helping you with
essential oils,
because chances are they have
some natural solutions for you
as well as I do.
So in closing, I just want to
say that my family and I
appreciate that we
can cleanse our house,
we can help support our health
and wellness through using
these natural products,
and we can also deodorize, and
like I said, clean the house.
So, I hope everyone
has a wonderful day, a
wonderful month,
and keep cleaning with your
natural dōTERRA essential oil
products!
Thank you.
