Shower Steamers | DIY Recipe Shower Melts With Essential Oils

Hey everybody, this is Rebecca with Aroma
Hut and today we’re going to do another
DIY and this time we’re gonna make
shower melts or shower steamers and it’s
very simple to make. Let me go over what
the ingredients you’ll need first. We’re
going to be using baking soda which of
course is available everywhere in
grocery stores and we’ll also be
using citric acid and this time instead
of using any type of liquids we’re going
to spray with our witch hazel to use it
to moisten it up because we don’t want
to cause the reaction between the two
ingredients over here and then we’re
going to be needing our essential oils any
brand will do. For today, I chosen peppermint and eucalyptus and the reason
for these is because these are great for
sinuses and opening up passageways of
breathing if you have a cold or flu.
These are two essential oils you could use in
the shower. So to start we’re going to
need to get our dry ingredients together
and I’m going to be using one cup
of baking soda and we’re going to use
about 1/2 cup of citric acid. Let’s go
ahead and start with our dry ingredients and
get these nice and blended.
Now I want to go ahead and add our
essential oils so I’m going to use about 20
to 25 drops. You can add a little less or
you can add more some recipes call for
quite a bit more. So let me just go ahead
and get this okay? Now you could use
single oils if you don’t have to blend
but I’m going to use two different oils.
Let’s go ahead and stir these up okay?
Now I’ve chosen to use a silicon mold
which is great because it’s bendable,
flexible and it’s going to make it so
much easier to get these out when they
do dry but as you can see we only have
dry ingredients. Right now so I’m gonna
go ahead and just start to spritz with
the witch hazel and just mix it with my
hand. I’m just gonna get it to the
point of being more like wet sand
because we don’t want to over wet it.
Let’s go ahead and get our mold and
and just take some
in our hand and go ahead and put it in
So we’re just gonna press down a
little bit to get them in their mold
and now if you want to just give them
one little bit of a spritz just a little
bit to moisten them make sure that
they’re moist enough but not too much.
We’re gonna leave these to dry for about
four to six hours so I’ll be back, okay?
I’m back and our shower melts are ready
now so we can go ahead and take them out
of the silicone mold, First you want to
just sort of loosen it up by pulling on it a
little bit so they don’t crack when you
take them out and just loosen them up
Now, you just go ahead and pop them
out. When you use these in the shower
you’re going to want to place them in a
place in the shower not directly in the
stream of water but just off to the side
where they will get wet. Aren’t those
cute? They are precious! Thank you for
watching and I hope that you’ll
subscribe to our channel if you haven’t
already and don’t forget to like this
video. See you next time!
