How To Lose Weight Fast and Easy With Yoga Lotus Pose Padmasana



Lotus pose is also one of the unique yoga
postures. Lotus Pose is surely coming under
the purview of Beginners’ Yoga Section.
It may also be disputed that Lotus Pose is
coming under the Advance Section. This is
also correct. Don’t get confused now. Lotus
Pose seems to be easier to practice, but truly
it is not so. It is of course easier for youngsters
but bit harder for middle-aged and older people
as beginners.
So, beginners of middle-aged group and elderly
people are supposed to be careful while performing
Lotus Pose. People who are finding it harder
to perform Lotus Pose in the beginning, and
then they may start with half lotus pose which
is also called Ardha Padmasana or Veerasana
or Half Lotus Pose.
Introduction:
Lotus Pose is called “Padmasana” in Sanskrit.
Padma + Asana = Padmasana.
Lotus Flower is called Padma in Sanskrit.
The Sanskrit word Asana is meant
for Pose or position or posture.
If you watch a Lotus Flower in a pond, the
flower will be floating completely
on the water surface keeping its stem straight
beneath the water. Likewise you should
be seated on the floor or on a Yoga mat with
crossed legs and each leg be kept on the other
side
of the thigh with erect spine. This position
is called Lotus Pose. Yoga aspirants are almost
meditating
in Lotus pose commonly.
Steps to perform Lotus Pose:
Sit normally on the floor or on a Yoga mat
with fully stretched legs in front of yourself
first.
Fold your right leg and keep the sole on the
left side thigh slowly and steadily. Fold
your left leg and keep the sole on the right
side thigh slowly and steadily. At this stage,
both the heals should be pressing your lower
abdomen gently. Now, keep your backbone erect.
You can be sitting in Lotus Pose for minimum
10 minutes every morning. Beginners should
increase the timing from 1 minute gradually
every day. Suppose you are obese or having
pot belly certainly you will initially find
it difficult to fold both of your legs. Only
by regular practice, you can perform Lotus
Pose correctly without facing any difficulty.
Breathing exercise can be done in Lotus Pose,
so can be meditation.
Lotus Pose is ideally good for stomach and
intestine.
Benefits attained through Lotus Pose are as
follows:
1) Lotus Pose Helps Improve digestion.
2) Your Blood Pressure level will become normal
in due course.
3) Lotus Pose gives good relief from chronic
pain in the knee joints
4) Your Backbone becomes very straight, so
you look younger than you are.
5) Menstrual issued will be eradicated, so
Lotus Pose is ideal for ladies.
6) Lotus Pose fully eradicates chronic stomach
pain in the long run by and by.
7) You will never suffer headache for lifetime.
Beginners: If you feel severe pain while folding
both the legs one by one simultaneously, it
is advisable on your part to begin practicing
Half Lotus Pose initially. Few weeks after
practicing Half Lotus Pose – Ardha Padmasana
consistently, it will really become easier
for you to perform Lotus Pose – Padmasana
perfectly without feeling any pain at all.
Now I am going to show you a brief demo as
to how to perfrom Lotus Pose.
Stretch your legs in front of yourself like
this than slowly and stedily
fold your right leg and put the sole on your
left side thigh slowly and gently.
Likewise, fold your left leg and keep the
sole on your right side thigh slowly and gently.
Now see that your heals are pressing the stomach,
your lower abdomen gently.Now sit straight
with erect spine, and this is called Lotus
Pose. You can also begin trying to perfrom
this
Lotus Pose at your home itself without having
to go to any Yoga class.I will be teaching
