Essential Living: AromaTouch Technique

An Introduction to the AromaTouch Technique
Hi, I’m Abby Stopher and I am the AromaTouch Coordinator for doTERRA Europe.
Today I’m going to be talking to you about the benefits of the AromaTouch Technique
and I’m going to be showing you a demonstration.
Debunking Five AromaTouch Technique Myths
Now, before we get into the demonstration, I want to talk to you about what makes
this technique so powerful and so amazing.
Myth #1 “AromaTouch Technique is a massage”
Sometimes we people say that the “AromaTouch Technique is a massage”
and while many people who experience the Technique for the very first time
expect it to be similar to a massage
they soon realise that it is nothing close to anything that they have ever experienced before.
That is because the AromaTouch Technique is primarily an essential oil application
that is dedicated to overall wellness.
The goal of the AromaTouch Technique is to create homeostasis within the body,
whereas a massage usually focuses on deep tissue manipulation.
Myth #2 “I need to be a professional to do the AromaTouch Technique”
We also hear “I need to be a professional to do the AromaTouch”
and since there are so many different modalities that require experience and licensing
it causes people to feel like they can’t provide an amazing experience because they don’t have
the education or the experience to do so,
and with the AromaTouch Technique we are breaking down those barriers.
The AromaTouch Technique can be done by anyone at any age and the giver can create
a powerful experience every time.
This is because there is a simple protocol to follow that guarantees a safe and a positive outcome.
The Technique has been designed purposely so that is simple enough that anybody can learn and share it
and it enables the opportunity for anybody to gift this to family and to friends.
Myth #3 “There’s a lot of equipment involved”
Many people assume that there is a lot of equipment involved
in order to provide an amazing experience with the AromaTouch Technique.
They think that they are going to need a massage table and other accessories as well.
However, the unique benefit of this technique is that it can be done anywhere.
It can be done on the floor, on a sofa, on a bed, basically, anywhere that allows a person to lie comfortably horizontally.
This further proves that anyone can provide an amazing experience to someone else
without even putting up a big expense to begin with,
and if you are somewhere with little privacy or you only have a few minutes to spare then don’t forget we have a wonderful oil application alternative,
the AromaTouch Hand Technique.
Myth #4 “AromaTouch is only beneficial for those who receive it”
We also hear that “the AromaTouch Technique is only beneficial to the receiver”.
Many modalities can cause pain and discomfort to the giver after a session that they provide.
The AromaTouch is very special in that it also provides benefits to the giver.
When the giver applies each oil, they receive aromatic benefits and
the movements in the technique are soft and comforting so it leaves the giver void of any discomfort or pain.
Myth #5 “AromaTouch is a women’s thing”
And my personal favourite, that “the AromaTouch Technique is a women’s thing”.
No matter what the struggle is whether it is emotional, physical or mental
the AromaTouch Technique can really help to bring relief or benefit to any person who is struggling.
It can build and enhance amazing connections between different relationships,
whether that be through mothers and fathers and their children,
through husbands and wives, friends, family or even strangers.
Regardless of their age, their gender or any personal concerns, the AromaTouch can help
and it is so empowering that way.
AromaTouch Technique Walkthrough
The AromaTouch Technique is a proprietary technique for applying essential oils to produce a profound whole-body wellness experience.
It brings the mental, the emotional, and the physical into a harmonious balance to help calm the body
and it really helps gives the body the reset that it so badly needs sometimes.
Our bodies are able to heal themselves when they are in the state of homeostasis,
and when we combine the physical touch and the layering of aromatic essential oils it
(Homeostasis is the ability to maintain a relatively stable internal state that persists despite changes in the world outside)
helps create relaxation and rejuvenation for the mind and also for the body.
(Homeostasis is the ability to maintain a relatively stable internal state that persists despite changes in the world outside)
The AromaTouch Technique uses eight oils in a specific order that takes the body through four stages of support.
The first two oils used are Balance and Lavender, and these two oils
really help to dial down the body and transition into a state of relaxation.
(Relaxation)
Balance creates that initial connection and Lavender helps increase
the benefits of the relaxation that have already began to take place.
Dr. Hill decided that the first oil needed to be doTERRA Balance. Its woody aromatic profile creates
a wonderful base aroma to build on. It creates a grounding and trusting connection between both the giver and the receiver.
We then use Melaleuca and On Guard, these two oils combined are a dynamic duo that help support
(Support)
the body’s protective functions, whilst Melaleuca also helps support the body’s cleansing and purifying processes.
On Guard was certainly a ‘no brainer’ when it came to the creation of this technique,
and this oil really helps provide the versatility and the ability to impact more people in a variety of ways.
To help minimise soreness, we use AromaTouch and Deep Blue to help soothe
(Soothe)
and restore the tissues, lessen tension and further deepen the state of relaxation.
Dr. Hill says that he wishes he could have had the AromaTouch essential oil blend back when he was practicing.
This oil is designed to help promote feelings of relaxation and lessen tension.
The last two oils used help us to really establish the desired homeostasis within the body,
these oils are Wild Orange and Peppermint.
High in monoterpenes, Wild Orange possesses stimulating and energising qualities
that provide the ability to purify and refresh.
The use of these two oils together help to invigorate the mind and the body
(Invigorate)
and help to re-awaken the senses without interfering in the process.
To apply the oils we use between 3 and 5 steps on each oil to fulfil the technique
these steps are shown in our instructional videos and can be found on the doterra.com website.
The AromaTouch Technique is an amazing experience if you are feeling over-worked
or if your stress levels are higher than normal or if just generally you are experiencing a few negative feelings
or thoughts, then the AromaTouch Technique should absolutely be your first go-to,
and even when you feel great, who doesn’t want to receive an AromaTouch?!
It can be hugely beneficial as a preventive treatment too.
Personally, I’ve found the AromaTouch Technique most powerful when I feel like my mind is racing at 100 miles per hour.
I experience an AromaTouch and I get the time to slow down, to breathe
and to connect with something other than myself and my thoughts.
