Engage in Good

Engage in Good

– Hey everyone, it’s Leon
from “The Kindness Diaries.”
Hopefully you remember me
from last year’s convention.
Things have changed a little bit.
Most of us have been locked down,
if not all of us but that doesn’t mean
that we still can’t be kind.
We most certainly can be.
And I wanted to reach out
to my friends at doTERRA,
specifically Emily Wright,
and find out what they’re doing over there
and what we can do over here.
So, let me just get Emily on the line,
hopefully she picks it up, Emily?
– Hey Leon, I haven’t
heard from you in a while,
how are you?
– I’m good, how are you?
– I’m doing really well,
working from home though,
it’s a new world.
– Yeah, I can imagine, I can imagine.
But I’m sure, even though
you’re working at home,
you have some plan up your sleeve
to be kind to the world in some way.
– (laughs) Well, actually,
we’ve been thinking about
starting a new initiative to get people
to really think outside of themselves,
and to do some kindness acts each day.
– Okay, cool, cool,
because I often tell people
that kindness isn’t this massive
thing that you have to do,
where you have to quit your job
and go around the world with a
yellow motorbike or whatever.
Kindness is moment to moment.
– Would love to start a movement
to get many more people doing that,
so we can really start
thinking outside of ourselves,
and make sure we stay
connected as human beings.
So, how about we call in Mark Wolfert
and talk about something we can do
with the whole doTERRA family.
– Let’s do it, I love
Mark, he’s a good man.
– He is a good man, let me
call him. (phone ringing)
All right, let’s see if he picks up.
– Hey Emily and Leon, how are ya?
– Hey Mark.
– Hey Mark, how are you?
– I’m great, you know, I
was just reminiscing about
our 15 day kindness challenge
leading up to convention last fall
as part of our Be Kind Together campaign.
And over 270,000 uniques acts of kindness
took place during those 15 days.
Can you believe it?
– It was amazing.
So Mark, Leon and I have been chatting
about how we could recreate this now,
now that we can’t go out and deliver meals
and do some of the things
that we did before.
How can we show act of kindness
and really be connected as human beings?
– Well, I’ll tell you one thing
that the Healing Hands
Foundation is going to do,
we’re gonna launch a matching
campaign where we will triple,
Emily and Leon, the amount of sales
that come from rose lotion
and the four-pack shea butter collection,
and we’re gonna donate that
to our first responders
and healthcare providers.
– They are true heroes right now.
They’re working around the
clock, no breaks, no lunches,
just trying to keep us
all safe and healthy.
– Yeah, we’re gonna build
some kits, Emily and Leon,
that have masks, and gloves,
and on guard sanitizing mist,
et cetera, to help those first responders.
– And they need it.
There’s a shortage in the world on masks.
I was talking to Kenzie
and Nicks, just yesterday,
and they were sending out these packages
to doctors and to nurses in
the hospitals in New York City.
And they said there just tears of joy
as they received these kits,
to have some means to
deal with their stress,
and to help them feel safe.
And so, I’m so excited
that we’re able to do this.
So Mark, that’s a wonderful way
people can purchase rose
lotion or shea butter,
to be able to help our first responders
and healthcare workers,
but what about just normal,
everyday acts of kindness?
– Well, you can go to
the doTERRA Healing Hand
websites for some ideas.
Days for Girls is partnering with us
on making some homemade
masks and things like that.
And we encourage others to get online
and share their ideas with each other
of things that we can do
from a physical distance perspective.
– Yep, well here’s my idea.
And I wanna know how you think about,
what you think about this.
I think if we start the
#EngageInGood, you see that?
Engage in good, and if
we have everyone go out
and post something that
makes people happy,
or some act of kindness
that they have done,
and inspire others to do the same,
we really could create a
movement all around the world.
What do you think?
– So Emily, if everyone makes a video
and then finishes that video
maybe with a homemade sign
that says #EngageInGood, I love that idea.
– Or even post something kind
that you did for yourself,
for someone else, and put that hashtag on.
It can even be a happy
quote, anything like that.
– I’ve got my handmade sign.
– Are you with us, Leon?
– I’m 100% with you,
I’ve got my sign up now.
I think it’s a great idea,
and it reminds people that kindness is,
like I said, a moment to moment thing
where little small acts, they change much.
You don’t have to do something big.
You can just make another
person feel less alone,
and then do the #EngageInGood, I love it.
– And as we’ve all slowed down,
it makes us be more
intentional with our actions,
with our thoughts, with our words.
Well thank you, let’s
create this movement,
and want to open this up to
our entire doTERRA family,
and really create a movement with this.
So, let’s all engage in good.
– Thanks, Emily and Leon.
– So nice chatting with
you two, thank you so much.
– All right guys, bye.
– Okay, bye-bye.
