DIY Natural Sugar Facial & Body Scrub // HOW TO for Holiday Gifts

Hey guys, this is “@MISCHLOSS”, Life
According to Maria and in this segment
we are going to be making facial scrubs
out of sugar, all natural, so stay tuned…
So here are the ingredients that you’re
gonna need; I just took a quick snapshot
of all the ingredients. You will need the
extra virgin olive oil,
you are going to need some honey, I
prefer raw honey, and I will show you
guys live video of each of these items…
in the video coming up. You’re gonna need
your organic… I use organic sugar. You’re
also gonna need some essential oils. I
pick two to use you can use either one or
you can eliminate this step. I’m going to
use a grapefruit essential oil and also
an orange essential oil and I’ve also
added some food coloring. Again, you can
avoid that step if you want to go
completely natural. I just like to add a
couple of drops of coloring just to make
it a fun festive looking sugar scrub. A
quick tip that I want to show you guys
is go ahead and choose the jar that you
want to end up with for your gift and
then go ahead and fill the jar with the
amount of sugar that you want to put in
there. Notice that I did leave a little
empty space on the top. Don’t overfill it
because with the oils and the essential
oils and the other ingredients that
you’re gonna add; it will cram it to the
top.
Ok, let’s get started. The first
ingredient is the organic sugar. I chose
this one from Target. It’s USDA Organic
non-GMO
and it’s a two pound bag. It should last
you for at least a few of these jars.
Just get as many as you need for as many
jars as you’re gonna be filling for your
friends and family. Next you will need
some extra virgin olive oil.
This is the carrier oil. Next up, the raw
honey. I use the unfiltered 100% very
raw organic honey. Honey is the natural
humectant which means that it will allow
your skin to retain moisture. This is
very important in the facial scrub and
especially for your skin!
Essential oils can be used as an
optional step, they don’t have to go into
the scrub but it does allow for a
wonderful scent and aroma within the
scrub. I chose to use orange and
grapefruit for this. Here are the two
essential oils. I’m using one in one
scrub and the other in the other scrub. They
are available in all health food stores.
Be sure to check with a professional
person at the health food store to
verify that you are allowed to use these
essential oils on the face or body.
Optionally, use some food coloring to add a
touch of pretty colors to your facial
scrubs. This is the only non-organic part
of the procedure. But again, if you want
some cool colors for the festivals and
holidays coming up, you can get some food
coloring; if not you can check your local
Whole Foods or other natural food stores
to see if they have any natural coloring
alternatives.
Ok guys so here are the ingredients and
also very basic instructions on how to
combine this facial sugar scrub. So
basically you’re gonna get a glass bowl.
You can get a glass or even a porcelain
bowl. Put in your sugar do about 4 or 5 counts
of olive oil so, as you’re pouring
just you know say “1,2,3,4,5” usually between
4 and 5 counts is enough. If you
need to adjust after that just add very
small amount of olive oil and then keep
mixing to you get the desired slushy
look and feel to it.
Add your drops of essential oil. This will
add the aroma to it and wonderful feeling when
people open up that jar smell it. Like
I said, I chose grapefruit and orange. You
can choose anything else. There’s also
rose water and other essential oils.
Make sure that you consult with a
professional at one of the health food
stores to make sure that it is allowed
to be put on your face or your skin.
Essential oils are very potent so use
care! Next put in your
organic honey; and then only start with
one drop of food coloring especially if
they are dark colors such as red or blue
because they really, really, really make a
deep coloring. You don’t want a very deep
color as you’re putting it on your body
or your face. Not that it won’t wash off,
but you might get some very scary looks
when people are looking at it and
putting it on their face… and their face
turns green or blue or red. So use
caution when you do that. Anyway, mix all
the ingredients. Make sure you have a
slushy consistency and add a little
more oil as you need to and then once it’s all done;
go ahead and start putting it into your
mason jars.
Go ahead and pat it down, being sure
to you know, get as much in there as you
can without going to the top of the jar.
Then go ahead and close it up and
decorate as you see fit. It’s normal
to see some oil at the top of it,
that’s great and it’s going to help it preserve.
So that’s how it looks like patted
down; like wet cold slushy. I made the
green one here you can make it for
Christmas or you can also make it for
Halloween, anyway that you want, to give
it out you know do different colors. It will
be a lot of fun for everybody to see
that and then go ahead and close up your
jar. Again, I use one of these preserve
jars so that it’s pretty airtight and the
rubber does help on it and just click it
closed, and you’re ready to decorate that…
you can put ribbons on it. You can put
bows on it… you can put labels for your
individual friends and family;
you can even use chalk color black board
stuff on top of it and then that’s a
really cool do it yourself project. So
just go to town with it. So here
are the Halloween ones I made and here’s
one kind of red and one green for Christmas.
So enjoy this video and PLEASE! subscribe if you
can and thumbs up.
Thank you so much for watching! 🙂 bye
