[lauren] hey everyone it’s lauren from hot for food and today i’m gonna show you how to make
[lauren] three very quick and delicious salad dressings.
[lauren] now i think this is something people don’t quite instinctively know how to make,
[lauren] dressings at home, maybe? not everybody does.
[lauren] and i feel like it’s the one thing you should definitely make from scratch because it’s super easy,
[lauren] and it’s a lot more affordable.
[lauren] today i’m gonna show you how to make a creamy bacon ranch dressing,
[lauren] a citrus ginger, sort of asian inspired salad dressing,
[lauren] and a quick and simple balsamic vinaigrette.
[lauren] alright, we’re just gonna mix the balsamic vinaigrette together in a jar and shake it up!
[lauren] you’re gonna start with quarter of a cup of olive oil,
[lauren] we’ll add three tablespoons of balsamic vinegar,
[lauren] add a teaspoon of dijon mustard,
[lauren] i’m adding about a teaspoon of coconut nectar but you could add any kind of sweetener.
[lauren] like maple syrup or agave.
[lauren] i’m gonna add a quarter teaspoon of garlic powder, and salt and pepper.
[lauren] and now you’re just gonna shake it up until it’s kinda creamy looking.
[lauren] so the balsamic vinaigrette goes great with a spinach salad,
[lauren] and i’ve just put apples, walnuts and radishes on top.
[lauren] for the ginger citrus dressing, you’re gonna start with a base of tahini.
[lauren] this is gonna help it be creamy.
[lauren] we’re gonna add a teaspoon of fresh grated ginger. you can add less if you want.
[lauren] we’re gonna add a teaspoon of miso paste,
[lauren] you could also add soy sauce if you don’t have miso.
[lauren] we’re gonna add about a tablespoon of lemon juice.
[lauren] and one to two tablespoons of orange juice. if you get some of the pulp in there, that’s fine.
[lauren] we’re gonna do a tablespoon of rice vinegar,
[lauren] kay we’re gonna add about a tablespoon of warm water.
[lauren] and before you shake it, just kind of squish in the miso paste if you’re using miso paste.
[lauren] just to make sure it dissolves, that’s why i’m using warm water.
[lauren] okay now we’re gonna shake this up.
[lauren] our ginger citrus dressing goes great with an asian salad.
[lauren] this one’s got kale, soba noodles, purple cabbage, red pepper, green onion
[lauren] and we’ll add some sesame seeds on top.
[lauren] and our final dressing is gonna be a creamy bacon ranch.
[lauren] now you know we make ranch all the time for a lot of our recipes
[lauren] so you kinda know how to make ranch. all you’re gonna do is add tofu bacon bits into it.
[lauren] and i showed you how to make tofu bacon bits in a recent video where i made chik’un caesar wraps.
[lauren] so all you’re gonna do is add that in and it’s gonna be
[lauren] bacony and smoky and creamy and chunky!
[lauren] and awesome.
[lauren] we’re gonna start with half a cup of vegan mayonnaise,
[lauren] we’re gonna add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to make it tangier,
[lauren] we’re gonna add chives, dill and parsley.
[lauren] i’m gonna add onion powder,
[lauren] salt and pepper.
[lauren] and bacon bits.
[lauren] and our creamy bacon ranch is going on top of a big chunky, kind of chop salad with
[lauren] big pieces of romaine, tomato wedges, cucumber and red onion.
[lauren] there’s our three easy vegan salad dressings.
[lauren] we’ve got balsamic vinaigrette, ginger citrus and creamy bacon ranch.
[lauren] i don’t know which one to eat first!
[lauren] they’re all amazing, obviously, bacon ranch. actually i need a fork and knife for that one.
[lauren] i left the romaine whole.
[lauren] so you could like cut into your salad.
[lauren] i actually thinned it out a little too much by accident,
[lauren] so the recipe below will be proper, it’ll be a little thicker than this and it’ll drizzle really nicely.
[lauren] um, so

[lauren] you can store them in the fridge for a couple of days depending on how many people you’re serving
[lauren] but these will make enough for one or two really large salads or multiple servings.
